Facebook Hits Milestone – One Billion Users in a Single Day

For the first time ever on August 24th Facebook hit the milestone of one billion daily active users. This was announced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg through none other than a Facebook post.

A more open and connected world is a better world. It brings stronger relationships with those you love, a stronger economy with more opportunities, and a stronger society that reflects all of our values.”

This announcement really highlights the gap between Facebook and its competitors. Currently one in seven people on earth are active users of this social media giant. This platform continues to attract users month after month with no signs of slowing down.

To put this milestone into perspective, currently there are 3.1 billion people who use the internet worldwide. That means nearly a third of all people who use the internet logged into their facebook account some time during the day.

With Facebook increasing their reach to citizens worldwide and connecting users with other people, brands and information it is important that this platform becomes a big part of your social media strategy.
